Chilesburg is one of the largest neighborhoods on the northeast end of Lexington (area 2), near a geographical area commonly referred to as Hamburg. [Learn more about the neighborhood on its homeowners association Web site.]  In fact, more homes sell in Chilesburg than any other neighborhood on this side of town.  Some of the main attractions are the combination of popular schools, reasonable price per square foot, a wonderful large park nearby with a retention pond, walking & bike trails, and fairly newer homes.  The neighborhood is also very close to a great deal of shopping & dining in Hamburg Pavilion and dozens of nearby restaurants and shops.  It is also just a few minutes away from I-75, making it very convenient for anyone who works or frequently travels out of Fayette County.

Here, half the homes are brand new with majority of the rest having been built in the last 5 years.  Home prices range from mid $100s to mid $300’s, but most of the ones under $160K will only get you 1200-1600sf with just one car garage.  Few homes in this neighborhood have a basement but those that do will run you over $200K.  The average home for the neighborhood is 2300sf in size, 4 bedrooms / 2.5 baths, and costs $215K.  Because these homes are newer, you can expect to get many of the amenities you’d expect in modern homes such as ceramic tile, stainless steel appliances, lots of hardwood, and beautifully appointed master suites.

Some of the neighboring subdivisions include Walnut Hill, Stuart Hall, and Still Meadows.
